Our Legacy of Love and Service
The Colombian Volunteer Ladies of Tampa Bay (CVL) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1982 by Maria Eugenia Vargas. For four decades, our mission has been to promote the economic, cultural, educational, and healthcare well-being of children and adults at risk.
What started as a goal to help underprivileged children has grown into a wide-reaching network of support that includes the elderly, the sick, and the disabled. We believe in transparency and efficiency: our volunteers manage all operations, ensuring that 95% of the funds raised go directly to those in need.
Our Impact
Where Your Hope Takes Action: We target groups at risk of health issues, poor schooling, or social segregation. Our impact is felt across borders.

In Colombia
We support institutions like Fundación el Cottolengo in Cali (elderly care), Instituto Para Niños Ciegos in Bogotá, and provide orthopedic surgeries for children in Cartagena.

In the USA
We are proud supporters of the USF Latino Scholarship and Shriners Children’s Medical Center.

Disaster Relief
We provide humanitarian assistance during emergencies and natural disasters in Colombia and the Caribbean.
Where Your Hope Takes Action: We target groups at risk of health issues, poor schooling, or social segregation. Our impact is felt across borders.
We work hand-in-hand with established institutions to ensure every donation reaches those who need it most.
Our Founders & Leaders
We honor the leadership of our past presidents who built this ray of hope, from our founder and the first president, Maria Eugenia Vargas (1982-1984) to our current leadership.
